Grades & Applications

4140 / 4340 for shafts, gears and structural forgings; 8620-series case-hardening grades for gearing; other low-alloy compositions for high-temperature and elevated-pressure service are supplied to the grade named on your drawing.

Heat Treatment

Quench-and-temper cycles tuned per heat lot for the required strength and toughness; sub-critical anneal for hydrogen-charged service.

Inspection

Inspection and testing to the scope and acceptance criteria stated on your drawing or purchase order.
